Cookie Policy
Last updated: 25 October 2026
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Similar techniques, such as local storage in your browser, work the same way; this policy covers them too, and we call them all cookies.
2. How we ask for your choice
When you first visit, our banner asks for your choice. Strictly necessary cookies run without consent, because the Website cannot work without them. Everything else runs only after you agree (Act 452/2021 § 109(8)).
- Accept all and Reject all sit side by side on the first screen. Rejecting is as easy as accepting.
- Under Settings you can choose each category: Preferences, Statistics, Marketing. Nothing is ticked in advance.
- Closing the banner counts as Reject all.
- You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
- We ask again after 12 months.
You can use the whole Website whatever you choose.
3. The cookies we use
Cookies the Website needs to work, and Matomo statistics cookies, but only if you accept Statistics. The table lists each one.
To see how the Website is used, we use Matomo, an analytics program that runs on our own website server. It shortens your IP address, shares nothing with anyone, and starts only after you accept Statistics.
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | Category | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| cmplz_functional, cmplz_preferences, cmplz_statistics, cmplz_marketing | Complianz (our consent tool, on our own server) | Remember which cookie categories you accepted or rejected. | Strictly necessary | 365 days (Complianz default) |
| cmplz_policy_id, cmplz_consented_services, cmplz_banner-status | Complianz | Remember which version of this policy you saw, your choices per service, and whether the banner was closed. | Strictly necessary | 365 days (Complianz default) |
| cmplz_user_data (session storage, not a cookie) | Complianz | Holds the banner settings for this visit. | Strictly necessary | Until you close the browser tab |
| wp-wpml_current_language; _icl_visitor_lang_js (only if language redirect is on) | WPML (language switcher) | Remember the language you chose or your browser language, so the right language version opens. | Strictly necessary | Short term, as set by WPML |
| _pk_id | Matomo, on our own server | A random ID that recognizes a returning visitor, for statistics only. | Statistics | 13 months |
| _pk_ses | Matomo, on our own server | Links the pages of one visit together. | Statistics | 30 minutes |
| _pk_ref | Matomo, on our own server | Remembers which website brought you to us. | Statistics | 6 months |
| (none) | Marketing | We do not use marketing cookies. If we add any, we list them here first, and they run only after you accept them. | Marketing | n/a |
4. When you click through to a partner shop
Our shop links carry a fixed partner code in the web address, for example ?gw=oNdG9IlRu7 for Greenway. The code is the same for everyone: it tells the brand the visit came from us, not who you are. We set no cookie for it.
Once you are on the brand’s shop, the brand sets its own cookies under its own cookie policy and asks for your choice there. That is how the brand links your orders to us.
5. Embedded content
We do not embed videos, maps or social media posts that set their own cookies. If we add any, they load only after you accept the matching category.
6. More information
How we handle personal data in general is in our Privacy Policy (/privacy-policy/). Questions: privacy@forbetterpurpose.eu.
